Wolves drew a frustrating blank at Blackpool, with Ebanks-Blake going close with a fierce shot, which rattled the Seasider's upright.
Boss, Mick McCarthy, made two changes from the side that lined up against Stoke at the weekend. George Elokobi, making his first start for Wolves, came in for Michael Gray.
Rob Edwards had to make do with a place on the bench, with Gary Breen returning at the heart of defence.
Wolves started brightly with most of the good work coming via Andy Keogh's berth on the right hand side.
However, on 8 minutes, against the run of play, Paul Dickov flashed a low cross into the Wolves box, which only just evaded the advancing Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Kevin Kyle went for a Matt Jarvis cross before the ball was cleared by the Blackpool defence.
Just after the half hour mark, Elokobi's looping throw-in into the Blackpool box, was flicked wide by Kevin Kyle.
There was no real goal threat from either side. However, with 11 minutes remaining Jarvis picked up the ball from the advancing David Edwards. Jarvis ran at the home defence only to fire his shot wide from the edge of the area.
Minutes later, Ebanks-Blake had a shot blocked from Keogh's cross, before David Edward's attempt was again pushed away by the Seasider's defence.
With less than 1 minute remaining great work by Jarvis on the left, saw his low angled cross met by Keogh who fired wide. Blackpool then advanced up the field, with Dickov shooting wide of Hennessey's upright from just outside Wolves' area.
Half-time: Blackpool 0-0 Wolves
Blackpool started the second half with an attack on the left by the lively Wes Hoolahan. His centre just evaded Taylor-Fletcher. With 5 minutes gone, Wolves had their first corner. Keogh took it short but it was cleared by the Blackpool defence.
After a good cross by Kyle on the right, Ebanks-Blake appeared to go down in the box after a push from a Blackpool defender. However, the referee waved play on.
With nearly 15 minutes gone Elokobi conceded a free kick on the left hand side. The centre by Crainey, came to nothing, as Wolves' defence effectively played offside.
Hoolahan took two successive corners. The first just skimmed off the head of Blackpool defender, Ian Evatt. Kyle cleared Hoolahan's second centre.
Wolves properly tested the opposition's keeper for the first time, as Paul Rachuba saved at point blank range from Kyle.
Blackpool nearly scored when with 26 minutes remaining Taylor-Fletcher hit the upright. It was end to end stuff as Ebanks-Blake broke for Wolves. Under pressure from Evatt, and falling to his right, his shot rattled the upright.
With 17 minutes left Wolves won successive corners. Both were taken by Jarvis and cleared by the Seasider's defence. 7 minutes later Kyle met a Jarvis corner, only to see his header flash wide of the right hand post.
Arguably, Keogh missed Wolves best chance of the match. He was fed by Ebanks-Blake but blasted over from 8 yards. Wolves survived some late scares including a Hoolahan free kick, which was headed away by Breen, but Wolves held on for a valuable point.
