Although Kevin Kyle had a hand in both of Wolves' goals against Stoke at the weekend, he admitted that the outcome against The Potters was 'doubly disappointing'.

On loan from Coventry City, the striker was making his full debut after coming on as a substitute at Watford a week earlier.

He said: "It's coming to the crucial stage of the season now which is why losing to Stoke, another of teams up there, was doubly disappointing.

"We just have to try and improve tomorrow night.

"Staying just two points off the play-offs is some consolation but there's still the thought that if we'd won we'd have been back in the top six.

"Three points would have kept us right in the mix but there's always tomorrow and we just have to try and push on from there.

"We can't go for 'ifs' and 'buts' - we've got to put this behind us, get up to Blackpool and try and get the win which will keep us in amongst it.

"When you look at Stoke's back four, all seemingly 6ft 3 or 6ft 4, that's probably why I was given my chance to try and mix it with them.

"I thought I did quite well and it was nice to get a couple of assists but the result was disappointing, it was never a 4-2.

"We created a lot of chances and I had one in the first half. My instincts were to follow in the shot and it ended up behind me. I just couldn't get my feet sorted to get it in.

"The first goal was obviously a mistake by Rob (Edwards) which he made up for by getting the equaliser.

"Then Andy (Keogh) produces a good finish straight after half time and we needed to just keep the ball and get ourselves set.

"But we kind of went gung-ho, we were all over the place and ended up getting caught on the break.

"The manager summed it up by saying we looked like we were trying to get another goal and weren't picking people up.

"We were all over the shop and ended up giving away three stupid goals.

"We were prepared for corners and set plays and stuff and ended up getting done by other things which is disappointing."
