Edwards Has Medical

Posted on: Fri 11 Jan 2008

David Edwards is set to be Wolves' second transfer window signing after the midfielder reported to Molineux for a medical this afternoon.

The formalities of his three and a half year contract are expected to be completed in the morning. He will not be eligible to play against Crystal Palace.

David comes to Wolves from crisis club Luton, where today boss Kevin Blackwell quit amid reports that the administrator of the financially stricken League One outfit is selling players without his agreement.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says: "It's a shame what's happening at Kenilworth Road but we are getting a really good player.

"We've been watching David since he played at Shrewsbury.

"He's done very well for Luton and the FA Cup draw with Liverpool showed that he can play at that level.

"It backed up all the scouting reports we have on him."

Twenty-one year old Edwards joined Luton from the Shrews in the summer.

He has scored four goals this season from 25 appearances.

In line with company policy, Wolves will not confirm the fee paid to Luton for Edwards.

NEW SIGNINGS OFFER ON REDUCED SHIRTS

With Wolves spending big in the transfer market, fans have a great opportunity to get behind the new signings.

Supporters can buy a discounted home or away shirt for just £20, with the added special offer of having any new player's name put on the back for free. The name printing offer runs up until 31st January 2008.

This offer is available online or at the Molineux and Dudley Street stores.
