Posted on: Fri 31 Aug 2007

Mick McCarthy has been boosted by the news of Stephen Elliott having recovered from the ankle injury that has restricted his appearances to the opening day encounter with Watford.

The boss also revealed that Matt Jarvis is to begin training today following the hip injury he suffered during the team's two game tour of Ireland.

"Stephen will be involved tomorrow but we still have a few out," said Mick.

"Jay Bothroyd has a sore thigh and I don't think he will be ready for tomorrow..

"Stephen Gleeson took a bang on the hip against Morecambe and I don't know yet if he will be available."

On some of the longer term injuries he added: "Matt Jarvis starts his rehabilitation today and we will see how it goes.

"He will start off gently but he'll be thrilled to be back on the training ground.

"And Mark Little and Mark Davies are getting there. They will be out on the training field today doing some ball work. They are not back with the squad yet but it will be good to have them back around."

Meanwhile the manager revealed that transfer listed striker Jemal Johnson was involved in talks with MK Dons ahead of today's transfer deadline.
