Freddy Fit for Action

Posted on: Fri 24 Aug 2007

Freddy Eastwood has declared himself fit for tomorrow's game against Blackpool (KO 3pm, click here for ticket news).

The striker made his debut for Wales on Wednesday but, after scoring the only goal of the game against Bulgaria, was substituted suffering from a tight groin.

Freddy returned to Compton this morning to do a light training session.

He said: "At half time I felt my groin tighten up a bit. But I went back out and carried on until Rob Earnshaw had warmed up and was ready to come on.

"It's eased now. I spoke to Taff (Ian Evans) on the phone and told him I was ok and fit for the weekend."

Stephen Elliott, who picked up a foot injury in training last week, is not expected to be fit for selection.
