Wolves 2 (Ward 33, Olofinjana 69)
Plymouth Argyle 2 (Sinclair 27, Timar 36)
Wolves had to come from behind twice to secure a point from their Molineux meeting with Plymouth. But although they dominated much of the game, Mick McCarthy's men couldn't conjure up a winning goal.
There were four changes, two of them enforced, to the team that had won at Norwich. Gary Breen and Jackie McNamara were ruled out through suspension and Michael McIndoe and Seyi Olofinjana dropped down to the bench.
Daniel Jones returned for his first game since the end of November, Stephen Ward made his first start and Jamie Clapham and Rob Edwards returned in defence.
Wolves kicked-off attacking the South Bank end under a cloudless sky and two corners inside the first two minutes from Jones and Michael Kightly, were only cleared with difficulty by the Plymouth defence.
It was one-way traffic towards the Argyle goal although keeper Luke McCormick only had to deal with crosses as Wolves pushed forward in the early stages.
Ward latched on to a Neill Collins ball out of defence but he was off target with a low shot from 25-yards.
Totally against the run of play Plymouth took the lead in the 27th minute through Scott Sinclair who cut in from the left before hitting a low shot past Matt Murray.
Darren Potter very nearly restored the balance seconds after the restart with a 30-yard drive that flew narrowly wide, before Murray managed to block
as Dan Gosling shot at goal.
Luke Summerfield nearly got a second for Plymouth when he hit the post from a free-kick as the visitors enjoyed a spell of attacking pressure but Wolves broke from defence to level things in the 33rd minute.
Clapham headed clear to Andy Keogh who ran through before slipping the ball to Ward who tucked it home from 15-yards (top picture).
But three minutes later Argyle regained the lead following a corner from Summerfield that was headed towards goal by Krisztian Timar. Clapham cleared but the referee decided that the ball had crossed the line before he had done so.
Ward fired onto the roof of the net following a cross from Mark Little and then the Irish striker played a part in a good move that saw a half chance for Potter only for a defender to clear before he could get a shot in.
Half-Time: Wolves 1 Plymouth 2
Wolves began the second-half as they had ended the first - on the attack with the visitors relying on breakaways.
Karl Henry saw his show blocked after a cross from Jones was headed out to him, then McCormick saved a shot from Ward at the expense of a corner after Keogh had set up the chance.
Ward's astute pass picked out Kightly who ran into the box only to have two shots blocked by defenders in quick succession.
Collins was booked for pulling back Barry Hayles before McIndoe became a 57th minute replacement for Jones.
On the hour mark, Rory Fallon was inches away from stretching Argyle's lead with a low, 20-yard shot that was less than a foot wide of the post.
Olofinjana was sent on for Little with Henry dropping to right-back and then Timar saved the visitors when he headed off the line onto a post after Kightly had taken a cross from McIndoe and fired at goal.
Wolves finally drew level in the 69th minute when McIndoe chipped the ball into the heart of the area following a free-kick from Potter and Olofinjana
headed into the net for his sixth goal of the season (pictured above).
Timar was yellow carded for a foul on the lively Keogh and Kightly wasn't too far over the angle with the resultant free-kick.
Despite piling on the pressure in the closing stages, a winning goal wouldn't come although McCormick had to be at his best to block from Keogh with McIndoe driving the rebound across the face of goal.
There was a scare for Wolves in stoppage time when Argyle substitute Kevin Gallen's shot was blocked by Murray. The ball looped in the air and went behind, just past the far post.
