Tuesday, May 8

Matt Jarvis (groin), Kevin Foley (hamstring) and Michael Kightly (groin) have a chance of being fit for the final game of the season as does Christophe Berra (calf).

Tuesday, May 1

David Davis has been told to rest for a fortnight after suffering an eye injury which saw him miss the game with Swansea.  Sebastien Bassong is back training after his hamstring problem while Matt Jarvis will be assessed during the week.

 

Saturday, April 28

Matt Jarvis's injury which forced him out of the action in the second half is revealed as a tight groin.

 

Wednesday, April 25

Sebastian Bassong is expected to be out for one or two weeks after damaging the fascia surrounding his hamstring in Sunday's defeat to Manchester City.

 

Wednesday, April 18

Wolves confirm that keeper Wayne Hennessey has undergone surgery on a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in the draw at Sunderland.  Hennessey is expected to be sidelined for six months.

 

Tuesday, April 17

Stephen Hunt is hoping to return to training by the end of the week following his recent hernia surgery.

 

Thursday, April 5

Stephen Hunt undergoes successful surgery on his groin problem which could see him back in action within two to three weeks.

 

Tuesday, April 3

Stephen Hunt is to see a specialist over his ongoing groin problem.  Jody Craddock (hamstring) and Jamie O'Hara (groin) both undergo minor surgery which could rule them out for the rest of the season.

 

Thursday, March 29

Terry Connor says Karl Henry and Stephen Hunt will need to be assessed before possible inclusion in the squad against Bolton but David Davis should definitely be available.

A triple boost for Wolves with Karl Henry, David Davis and Stephen Hunt all back in training.

 

Thursday, March 22

David Davis (rib) looks set for a three-week absence and Karl Henry (hamstring) is still not ready to return. Nenad Milijas is available again.

Jamie O'Hara (groin) is ruled out for up to four weeks while David Davis goes for a scan. Nenad Milijas (calf) returns to training but Karl Henry (hamstring) is still not outside.

Terry Connor reveals Karl Henry may struggle to make a quickfire return to action against Manchester United.  Nenad Milijas is also being treated for a calf injury picked up in training and Sebastien Bassong (ankle) also sat out.

Karl Henry is out for an expected three to four weeks after a scan reveals a hamstring strain while Dave Edwards (knee) is still not back in training.

 

Friday, March 2

Wayne Hennessey and Kevin Doyle are back in training but Dave Edwards (knee) is still not doing full work after the injury which ruled him out of Wales' friendly.

Boss Terry Connor reveals that Steven Fletcher is back in training after the virus which forced him to miss the Newcastle game.  Sebastian Bassong is also training having not been risked at the Sports Direct Arena.

Steven Fletcher emerges as a doubt for Saturday's trip to Newcastle after being unable to train due to a virus.

 

Wednesday, February 15

The injury which forced Sebastien Bassong off during Sunday's Black Country Derby with Albion is revealed as a Grade One hamstring strain which gives him a chance of being fit for the next game at Newcastle.

 

Tuesday, February 14

Ronald Zubar comes through 90 minutes for the reserves at Arsenal, his first runout for seven weeks after picking up a knee injury.

 

Thursday, February 9

Three players miss training, Jamie O'Hara (groin), Dave Edwards (thigh) and Kevin Foley (ankle) with the boss hoping they will be back ahead of the weekend's game with West Bromwich Albion. Michael Kightly is resting with an injured back ahead of hopefully being available for the next game against Newcastle.

 

Monday, February 6

Emmanuel Frimpong's injury is revealed to be a rupture of his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) meaning surgery and a lengthy absence.  He returns back to parent club Arsenal ahead of his operation.

 

Saturday, February 4

Boss Mick McCarthy reveals Emmanuel Frimpong will have to undergo a scan on the injured knee which forced him off during the first half at QPR.

 

Friday, February 3

Jamie O'Hara is back in the travelling party as Wolves head to QPR.  Ronald Zubar is still not quite ready despite being back training after his knee injury having missed his potential reserve team comeback due to illness.

 

Monday, January 30

Jamie O'Hara comes through 45 minutes on his comeback for the reserves while Jody Craddock continues his return with the full 90 minutes against Fulham.

 

Tuesday, January 24

Jody Craddock comes through an hour on his return from his hamstring injury in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Burnley.

 

Monday, January 23

Mick McCarthy reports good news on Emmanuel Frimpong.  The visit to a specialist revealed no eye damage and he should be o-k to return to training by the end of the week providing a follow-up appointment is acceptable.

 

Saturday, January 21

Emmanuel Frimpong is stretchered off during the game with Aston Villa after being accidentally kicked in the face by Stiliyan Petrov.  An initial check at hospital proves satisfactory and he is back at Molineux shortly after full time.  The on-loan midfielder will see a specialist when the swelling on his eye has come down.

 

Friday, January 20

The boss expects to have Roger Johnson, Kevin Foley, Dave Edwards and Matt Jarvis all available for the Midlands derby with Aston Villa.

 

Tuesday, January 17

Roger Johnson, Kevin Foley, Dave Edwards and Matt Jarvis are all doubts for the cup tie with Birmingham due to various knocks.

 

Tuesday, January 10

Ronald Zubar faces four or five weeks out with his knee injury and Jody Craddock is still not back in full training.  Roger Johnson is expected to be o-k by the weekend after the ankle injury which forced him off at Birmingham and Jamie O'Hara is in with a chance as he continues his rehab from a double hernia.

 

Wednesday, December 28

Ronald Zubar is assessed after limping out of the Arsenal game with a knee injury.  Although fit again Dave Edwards missed out on the draw at the Emirates due to illnessJody Craddock and Kevin Foley still not yet expected to be available for first team contention for the game at Bolton.

 

Wednesday, December 21

Jamie O'Hara is ruled out for between four and six weeks after undergoing surgery to a double hernia.  Jody Craddock and Kevin Foley make their comebacks from injury in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Crewe.

 

Friday, December 16

Jamie O'Hara is unavailable for the game with Stoke due to a calf strain picked up in training. Dave Edwards also isn't fit and Jody Craddock and Kevin Foley are not available.  Matt Jarvis is fit after returning to training.

 

Wednesday, December 14

Dave Edwards hopes to return to training after coming off in the first half against Manchester United with a tight groin.  Matt Jarvis also picked up a slight thigh problem in that game but is also hoping to train on Thursday. Kevin Foley is back in training but needs reserve games before being considered ready for first team availabilty. Jody Craddock is unlikely to be fit again for the game with Stoke.

 

Thursday, December 8

Jody Craddock is set for a ten day absence after suffering a hamstring tear which forced him out of the closing stages against Sunderland. Kevin Foley is nearing a possible return to training.

 

Thursday, December 1

Kevin Doyle and Richard Stearman are both back in training and in contention to return to the squad against Sunderland.

 

Saturday, November 26

Richard Stearman reveals he could be set to return to training next week after having a carbon fibre cast fitted to protect his broken wrist.

 

Thursday, November 24

Kevin Doyle is a slight doubt for the trip to Chelsea after coming off in training but is expected to be fit. Ronald Zubar is set for a potential first start in eight months due to Richard Stearman's injury.

 

Monday, November 21

Richard Stearman to undergo surgery and have a plate inserted into the broken wrist sustained at Everton.  Difficult to predict how long his absence will be but boss Mick McCarthy believes the initial estimate could be up to four weeks.

 

Thursday, November 17

No major injury worries for Wolves ahead of Everton although Ronald Zubar unlikely to be considered due to his long absence despite being back in training. Roger Johnson suffering from a slight thigh problem but expected to be available.

 

Friday, November 4

Having been assessed as unlikely to return earlier in the week, Steven Fletcher now has an outside chance of being involved against Wigan after his calf showed plenty of improvement.  Jody Craddock is away from the training ground due to a sickness bug. Carl Ikeme is nearing full fitness again having returned from a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough with a hand injury.

 

Friday, October 28

Still no Ronald Zubar but no other fresh problems ahead of the trip to Manchester City.

 

Tuesday, October 25

Ronald Zubar is ruled out of a potential return to the squad for the Carling Cup tie with Manchester City due to a groin problem.  Steven Fletcher is a week away from a possible return to training.

 

Friday, October 21

Ronald Zubar is ruled out of staying in the first team squad due to a minor groin injury.  Dave Edwards and George Elokobi return to the squad after ankle problems.

 

Tuesday, October 18

Kevin Foley undergoes an operation to solve the problem of his injured ankle.  Absence expected to be between one and two months. Steven Fletcher's spell on the sidelines estimated to be between two and four weeks.

 

Friday, October 14

Steven Fletcher is set to miss out on the Black Country derby due to a calf injury picked up in training.  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is available again after coming through 77 minutes for the reserves in midweek.

 

Tuesday, October 4

Ronald Zubar continues his comeback trail with a game for the reserves while Jody Craddock, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Jody Craddock all prepare to step up their training.

 

Tuesday, September 27

Richard Stearman faces a battle to be fit to face Newcastle due to a badly bruised toe.  Ronald Zubar comes through 70 minutes for the reserves but Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Kevin Foley are still sidelined.  Jody Craddock hopes to return to training later in the week.

 

Thursday, September 22

Roger Johnson and Steven Fletcher return to training.  Still no Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Ronald Zubar or Kevin Foley, with the latter set to undergo another scan on his ankle.

 

Monday, September 19

A few fresh injury worries for the Carling Cup tie with Roger Johnson (calf) and Jody Craddock (hamstring) both ruled out.  Kevin Foley is to see a specialist about his injured ankle and Ronald Zubar (groin) is still unavailable.

 

Friday, September 16

Matt Jarvis completes a full week's training to provide his manager with a boost.  But Steven Fletcher is yet to train and is therefore unlikely to face QPR.  Kevin Foley and Stephen Hunt are both back in training however.  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is still not available.

 

Tuesday, September 13

Mick McCarthy reveals that Steven Fletcher is struggling with a groin injury and that Kevin Foley (ankle) and Stephen Hunt (ankle) are also unable to train.

 

Monday, September 12

Good news for Adlene Guedioura and Dave Edwards who feature for the reserves in their 3-2 win at Blackburn.

 

Saturday, September 10

Matt Jarvis is not risked from the start against Tottenham with boss Mick McCarthy revealing he has only trained twice and played twice in the last fortnight.

 

Thursday, September 8

Matt Jarvis is set for a return to training having sat out earlier in the week and had an injection on his ankle.  Adlene Guedioura (ankle) and Ronald Zubar (back) are both in training but Dave Edwards has suffered a sore calf following his return.

 

Tuesday, August 30

A comeback for Dave Edwards, who comes through 78 minutes for the reserves as they draw with Newcastle at Telford.

 

Thursday, August 25

Bad news for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake who could be out for up to month with a medial knee ligament injury sustained while scoring the second goal in Tuesday's Carling Cup win at Northampton.  Dave Edwards however could be in line to return for the reserves next week and Adlene Guedioura is bacl from rehabilitation in Qatar to be assessed ahead of a possible return to training.

No fresh injury worries for Wolves leaving Dave Edwards and Adlene Guedioura as the only absentees.

 

Thursday, August 11

Wolves all set for the start of the new season.  Mick McCarthy reveals Kevin Doyle (knee) has got a '70-30' chance of featuring on the opening day at Blackburn after returning early from international duty.  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (hamstring), Michael Kightly (knee) and Kevin Foley (ankle) are set to return to training while Dave Edwards (back) is a further week away.  Adlene Guedioura is currently in France having undergone a successful operation on his ankle.

Boss confirms Kevin Doyle will be in the squad with Ronald Zubar (back) and Dave Edwards (back) Wolves only two absentees. Michael Kightly is fit again after his groin problem.

 

Monday, May 9

Kevin Doyle is set to return to full training after his medial knee ligament injury and is on target to return for the final two games of the season.

Better news for Wolves as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's hamstring injury has improved and he now has a chance of making the big derby.  Michael Kightly and Kevin Doyle still sidelined though.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is a doubt for the Stoke game after a recurrence of his hamstring problem but Kevin Doyle (hamstring) is targeting a return for the final two games of the season and George Elokobi is a week away from full training.

Stephen Hunt is back in training after his hernia operation while Kevin Doyle is doing some running and Dave Edwards is also making progress.

Dave Edwards reveals he is able to 'up' his rehabilitation after his back injury and has a 50-50 chance of playing again this season. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake limps off against Everton with a hamstring strain which leaves Wolves waiting on a scan.

Adlene Guedioura joins Michael Kightly back on the first team availability list ahead of the visit of Everton.

Stephen Hunt is to undergo a hernia operation and will be sidelined for two to three weeks.

Adlene Guedioura makes a long-awaited return after six months out with a broken leg by coming through 90 minutes for the reserves at Blackpool and scoring in the 2-1 victory.

 

Monday, March 28

A free weekend for Wolves but some bad injury news nevertheless as Kevin Doyle picks up a problem for the Republic of Ireland against Macedonia.  Back at Compton, the injury is confirmed as a medial knee ligament which will mean an absence of four to eight weeks.

 

Monday, March 21

Confirmation that Ronald Zubar has undergone a back operation in France and is ruled out for the season as a result.

 

Friday, March 18

Still no Ronald Zubar (back) for Aston Villa or Stephen Hunt (calf) but the latter is back in training and aiming to be available for Newcastle in a fortnight's time.  Michaels Kightly and Mancienne both in the travelling party as is David Jones.

 

Tuesday, March 15

Michael Mancienne gets through 45 minutes on his return from Chelsea for treatment for a patella tendon injury.  Michael Kightly also continues his comeback with 82 minutes. 

 

Thursday, March 10

Stephen Hunt is ready to start running and hopes to be back in training within a week.  David Jones returns to training after the knee injury which ruled him out against Tottenham.

 

Wednesday, March 9

Michael Kightly's return to fitness continues to go from strength to strength with boss Mick McCarthy suggesting he has a chance of making the first team squad for the trip to Aston Villa. Ronald Zubar has headed out to France for an injection in his back while Michael Mancienne may return to Wolves to start training next week.  Adlene Guedioura meanwhile has also returned to training following his broken leg while Stephen Hunt is still battling to try and be ready for Villa.

Boss reveals that Karl Henry, a used substitute at City, and Jody Craddock will start the FA Cup tie with Doncaster.  Dave Edwards back training but not yet ready to be considered while Kevin Foley still sidelined.

Kevin Foley misses the defeat at Manchester City with an ankle problem which could leave him sidelined for a fortnight.

Comeback time for Karl Henry, Steven Mouyokolo, Jody Craddock and Sam Vokes who all play various amounts of time in a training ground friendly with Leicester.

 

Saturday, January 8

Adlene Guedioura is back at Compton after a month of rehabilitation at a world-recognised facility in Qatar.  Possibly two to three months away from availability after breaking his leg in September.  Dave Edwards limps out of the game at Doncaster with a hamstring injury but it is hoped it is nothing serious.

 

Friday, January 7

Ronald Zubar and Kevin Foley will both miss the FA Cup tie at Doncaster with minor ankle injuries.

Kevin Doyle is back in the frame for the visit of Chelsea after recovering from his thigh injury. Karl Henry could be fit for the weekend's FA Cup trip to Doncaster.

Jody Craddock reveals he is set for a return to training after his lengthy absence with a hip/thigh problem.

The boss reports that none of the injured personnel will be back for the trip to Liverpool.

Michael Mancienne has returned to parent club Chelsea for further assessment on his knee injury. Jody Craddock has responded well to an injection on his hip/thigh problem. Kevin Doyle is still undergoing treatment.

 

Tuesday, December 21

Michael Mancienne has been for a scan on his knee.  Kevin Doyle and Karl Henry continue to receive treatment and are not yet close to a return. Michael Kightly has undergone a successful operation on his left knee and is now hopeful of being back running within five to six weeks.

 

Friday, December 17

Steven Mouyokolo (back), Michael Mancienne (knee) and Kevin Doyle (thigh) will all miss the Black Country derby.  David Jones, Christophe Berra and Matt Jarvis have a chance of being fit.

 

Tuesday, December 14

David Jones is back doing a bit of tris still feeling the effects of a virus.aining after his foot injury while Steven Fletcher is still feeling the after-effects of a virus.

 

Monday, December 13

Christophe Berra back in for treatment for the thigh problem sustained while colliding wit the post against Birmingham. 

 

Friday, December 10

Matt Jarvis joins the doubts with a knee injury while Kevin Doyle has a dead leg.  Michael Mancienne and David Jones are both also doubts while Steven Mouyokolo is out with a back injury.

 

Monday, December 6

David Jones is out of hospital after being treated with antibiotics.  Michael Mancienne is to undergo a scan on the knee injured at Ewood Park.

 

Saturday, December 4

In the wake of defeat at Blackburn, the boss reveals that David Jones has been taken to hospital as a precaution due to continuing soreness in his injured foot. 

 

Friday, December 3

David Jones the latest to join the injured list after a gashed foot suffered in the victory over Sunderland became infected.

 

Tuesday, November 30

Bad news for Jody Craddock.  His return to training prompts further problems and a scan reveals a tear which will mean a further absence of six to eight weeks.  Michael Kightly meanwhile is confirmed as being ready for an operatoin on his left knee after the success of surgery on his right. Karl Henry's absence may be slightly less than the initial maximum suggested of two months.

 

Friday, November 26

Injuries mounting for Wolves ahead of the Sunderland match. Steven Mouyokolo has a back injury and Jody Craddock, Dave Edwards and Karl Henry remain on the sidelines.  Ronald Zubar is back in the squad though.

 

Tuesday, November 23

Ronald Zubar comes through over an hour for the reserves at Arsenal as he makes his comeback after an ankle operation.

 

Monday, November 22

Karl Henry's injury is confirmed as a medial knee ligament problem meaning anything up to two months on the sidelines.

 

Thursday, November 18

Christophe Berra and Steven Mouyokolo both return to training as does Ronald Zubar, who will still not be considered for the weekend given his long term absence. Jody Craddock has been reined in a little due to discomfort but should return to training next week.  Dave Edwards still undergoing treatment.

 

Tuesday, November 16

Jody Craddock and Ronald Zubar still at least a week away.  Christophe Berra and Steven Mouyokolo both due for scans on knee injuries picked up in the warm-up and then game against Bolton respectively.

 

Friday, November 12

Dave Edwards faces three weeks on the sidelines with a thigh strain suffered in the early stages of the Arsenal game. Stephen Ward (gashed shin) and Kevin Doyle (hand) have a chance of featuring against Bolton.

 

Tuesday, November 2

Jody Craddock and Ronald Zubar are both around a fortnight away from possible action after thigh and ankle injuries respectively.  Matt Hill is back at Compton and heads off to see a specialist over a foot problem which he picked up during his loan spell with Barnsley.

 

Friday, October 29

Michael Kightly has had an operation on his knee which Mick McCarthy reports has been positive.  Kightly due to return to see specialist in six weeks time.

 

Tuesday, October 26

More bad news for Michael Kightly who heads out to Sweden for surgery to try and boost his recovery from patella tendon problems. On the positive however, it is hoped the operation with a world-renowned surgeon will help bring an end to his long spell out of action. Jody Craddock is due to start running either towards the end of the week or early next week.

 

Tuesday, October 19

Jody Craddock unlikely to be fit for the trip to Chelsea due to injury which forced him off in early stages against West Ham.  Slight damage to thigh muscle.  Ronald Zubar back after his operation to step up his rehabilitation at Compton.

 

Tuesday, October 12

Good news for Stephen Hunt who comes through 45 minutes for the reserves, his first action in a Wolves shirt and first since his last appearance for Hull in February.

 

Tuesday, October 5

It is confirmed that Ronald Zubar will be sidelined for a month as he needs an operation to remove an ankle spur which has been causing him problems.

 

Thursday, September 30

Stephen Hunt is back in training, with the Development Squad, but is still not ready for first team contention.  Stephen Ward (groin) back in training after being forced off against Aston Villa and so too Michael Mancienne (knee) who was unavailable for Villa.  Ronald Zubar (ankle) still missing.

 

Monday, September 27

Bad news for Adlene Guedioura as the injury picked up in the latter stages of the game against Aston Villa is confirmed as a fractured tibia.  It's a clean break, which is the only good news.  Unfortunately that still means an absence of between four and six months.

 

Tuesday, September 21

Dave Edwards unlikely to figure in the Carling Cup tie with Notts County due to an ankle injury.  Jelle Van Damme (calf) also struggling as is Matt Jarvis (groin).  Ronald Zubar still sidelined but Stephen Hunt progressing well.

 

Friday, September 17

Steven Mouyokolo looks set to travel with the squad for the game with Tottenham after coming through 90 minutes for the reserves.  Ronald Zubar isn't travelling due to a sore ankle.

Steven Fletcher and Jelle Van Damme both back in training and set to make squad for Fulham.  But Steven Mouyokolo and Ronald Zubar will miss out with hamstring problems.  Geoffrey Mujangi Bia is training again after a thigh injury but not yet ready for availability.

Steven Fletcher and Jelle Van Damme both set to return to training before the end of the week.  Initial prognosis on foot and ankle injuries is promising after their release from international duty.

 

Monday, September 6

Steven Fletcher and Jelle Van Damme are back at Compton to be assessed on the lingering injuries which have affected them since the opening day of the season.  Fletcher is still suffering from a badly bruised foot and Van Damme ankle discomfort and have therefore been released from international duty by Scotland and Belgium respectively.

Mick McCarthy reveals that Michael Kightly has not been included in Wolves' 25 after a minor setback to his recovery from patella tendon problems.  Kightly will continue his rehabilitation with a view to going out on loan prior to January.

A sad day as Matt Murray announces his retirement from the game.  Murray's recovery from patella tendon problems had reached its end.

Mixed news ahead of Carling Cup tie with Southend.  Ronald Zubar again available as is Dave Edwards.  But still no Steven Fletcher, Jelle Van Damme or Steven Mouyokolo. And Karl Henry likely to be rested because of a groin problem.

The boss reveals that Kevin Doyle is back in full training.  Steven Fletcher isn't as yet while Jelle Van Damme is a doubt for Saturday's trip to Everton with an ankle injury sustained against Stoke.  Ronald Zubar is back training but Dave Edwards (groin) and Steven Mouyokolo (hamstring) won't be involved at Goodison Park.

Steven Fletcher departs Molineux on crutches after his goalscoring debut against Stoke.  But boss Mick McCarthy believes the injury is only bone bruising and that he shouldn't be on the sidelines for too long.  Kevin Doyle is also expected to make a return to training in the early part of the week.

 

Friday, August 13

Kevin Doyle (calf) and Dave Edwards (groin) are the two big doubts for boss Mick McCarthy ahead of the opening game of the season.  Both are battling to recover from the injuries which ruled them out of the internationals.

Dave Edwards returns home from international duty with Wales having suffered a groin injury in training.

 

Monday, August 9

With five days to go before the start of the season there is good news on Kevin Doyle and Michael Kightly.  A scan on Doyle's calf has shown no serious damage and the striker is continuing his battle to be fit for the Republic of Ireland's game with Argentina on Wednesday.  Kightly meanwhile is poised for a return to some form of full training after suffering problems with his patella tendons.  Stephen Hunt continues his rehabilitation while Ronald Zubar is also currently on the casualty list with a groin injury. Matt Murray is also still working on his rehabilitation.

Christophe Berra suffers a nasty-looking head injury falling awkwardly going up for a header in tonight's game against Manchester City, and suffers mild concussion.  However, the initial prognosis is that there is no other serious damage and he is able to return home after the game to return the following day for further assessment.

 

Wednesday, December 23

Andy Keogh reveals he has undergone his ankle operation and will be returning home for a few days before heading back to Wolverhampton to start his rehabilitation.  The striker has a target to return of mid to late February.

 

Saturday, December 12

The ankle injury curse strikes again, this time with Dave Edwards during the game with Tottenham.  Dave limps out of the action and initial prognosis suggests he may require an operation and again, an absence of at least two months.

 

Friday, December 11

More bad news for Wolves with Andy Keogh now injured.  Ankle ligament damage sustained in training will need an operation and prompt an absence of up to three months. Ronald Zubar still out but Chris Iwelumo to return to the squad at Tottenham.

Michael Kightly has undergone his minor operation and started his rehabilitation.  The winger, who hopes to be running again before Christmas, is also grateful the injury wasn't a lot worse given the way he fell under the challenge.

Michael Kightly is to undergo an operation on his injured ankle.  Chris Iwelumo (metatarsal) and Ronald Zubar (ankle) are closing in on a return to full training.  There are slight doubts over Stefan Maierhofer and Greg Halford but both should be fit for the visit of Bolton.

Matt Murray is to be on the sidelines for "months rather than weeks" with his knee injury.  The injury doesn't however require an operation.

Ronald Zubar emerges as a doubt for the trip to Chelsea with a thigh problem sustained in training.  It's also confirmed that Matt Murray has suffered a setback and is due for further rehabilitation on his injured knee. The setback however won't require further surgery.

Matt Murray has undergone a scan on his knee and Wolves are now awaiting the results.  Good news elsewhere with David Jones, Stephen Ward and Matt Hill all closing in on a return to full time training.

Richard Stearman returns from his ankle problem to play 45 minutes for the reserves against Chelsea. And Chris Iwelumo also comes through the same amount of action after almost three months on the sidelines with a broken metatarsal.

 

Friday, September 18

Double blow for Wolves in training losing both Richard Stearman and Andrew Surman. Richard suffers an ankle injury although on the bright side an X-ray reveals no break. Andrew picks up a knee problem.  Kevin Foley, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Michael Kightly all back in the squad for the Fulham game though.

Michael Kightly makes his long-awaited return from injury by playing 60 minutes as the reserves draw at West Ham.  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Foley and Jody Craddock are all continuing their recoveries with an outside chance of being available for the forthcoming game with Fulham.

 

Tuesday, September 8

Jody Craddock is the latest new arrival to the casualty department after suffering a hamstring strain in training. Set to rule him out for a fortnight in total.  Elsewhere though Michael Kightly is back in full training.

 

Wednesday September 2

Bad news for Stephen Ward after his operation reveals the cartilage problem is worse than could be seen on a scan.  Fortunately it can be repaired, but it means a likely absence of between two and three months.

 

Saturday August 29

Michael Kightly reveals he's back training with the Development squad and could be back with the first team in the coming days.  Mick McCarthy reveals that Stephen Ward requires an operation to repair a slight tear in his cartilage but hoping that it's a short absence.

 

Friday August 28

Greg Halford should be available for the game with Hull and Stephen Ward has a chance.  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has a struggle to make the squad having interrupted his return to training. Kevin Foley is still not ready to return.

Greg Halford (calf) and Stephen Ward (knee) are both set to miss Tuesday's Carling Cup tie with Swindon.

It's not been a great night for Wolves on the international front.  Boss Mick McCarthy reveals Christophe Berra will definitely miss the kick-off with a hamstring injury picked up with Scotland. Kevin Doyle has suffered a slight groin injury after getting his 45 minutes with the Republic of Ireland while Wayne Hennessey tweaked his ankle in action for Wales.

Matt Murray reveals he's back running again for the first time since last November and is hoping to be back in full training within six to eight weeks.

Kevin Doyle gets his runout for 20 minutes and boss Mick McCarthy reveals it was always planned to substitute him after sending him on at around the hour mark.

Some good news on Kevin Doyle, who has returned to training and is pencilled in for a brief runout in the August 8 friendly with Real Valladolid.

Mick McCarthy reveals that Michael Kightly is unlikely to be fit for the start of the new season. Kightly has suffered some minor twinges during his rehabilitation from injury and is to receive further treatment expected to last a couple of weeks before returning to full training. David Jones however returns to the squad for the Development game with Crewe.

 

Saturday, July 25

Kevin Doyle, who returned back from Germany on Thursday, says that his operation was successful and is now targeting a return to full training within ten days to two weeks.

 

Tuesday, July 21

Striker Kevin Doyle has flown over to Germany for an operation to repair a damaged hernia. Not expected to be serious and the record signing expected back training within a fortnight.

 

Monday, July 20

Chris Iwelumo is back in to Compton on crutches after an operation on his broken metatarsal.  Surgery went well, and the anticipated spell on the sidelines for the striker is three months.

Friday, July 10

Bad news for Chris Iwelumo who, in his first match back since suffering medial ligament damage in April, breaks his metatarsal against Perth Glory in Australia. Striker will return to England for an operation.

Bad news for Matt Murray as Steve Kemp reveals he has had to undergo another operation in his bid to recover from a ruptured patella tendon. With part of the tendon not healing properly, it was agreed between Matt, the Wolves medical team and his surgeon to undergo the clean-up operation to prevent any problems later in the recovery process.  Matt will not be fit until the new Premier League season is underway.

 

Friday May 1, 2009.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake returns to training today in the hope of being fit for the final game of the season.  Andy Keogh should also be fit after the knee injury which saw him substituted at Barnsley.  Stephen Gleeson is back at Wolves being treated after suffering an ankle injury whilst on loan with MK Dons in their game against Walsall last weekend.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and David Jones will be missing from tomorrow's game with Barnsley. Sylvan is suffering from back/hamstring problems while David a knee injury.

Mick McCarthy confirms Chris Iwelumo will not now be risked again this season. With promotion assured, the striker can now take his time with his recovery from a knee injury.

Michael Kightly, who was back at Molineux for Saturday's promotion celebrations, is now at Compton beginning his rehabilitation after surgery on both his broken metatarsal and long-standing hip problem.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake returns to training with a good chance of figuring in Saturday's game with QPR. Chris Iwelumo undergoes an injection to aid his recovery and still has a slim chance of being available for the final day of the season.

 

Friday, April 10, 2009.

After the 3-0 win at Southampton, Mick McCarthy confirms that neither Sylvan Ebanks-Blake or Chris Iwelumo will be available for Monday's trip to Derby. But with three weeks of the regular season remaining, he's not yet ruling Chris out of his plans.

 

Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Chris Iwelumo has suffered medial ligament damage and bruising to his bone, a scan has revealed.  He'll definitely miss Wolves' double-header over the Easter weekend but the injury is not as bad as it could have been.

 

Monday, April 6, 2009.

A bad night on the injury front as well as the result as Wolves lose to Birmingham. Chris Iwelumo is stretchered off with a knee injury after a scything challenge from Lee Carsley which will be assessed over the next few days.  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake meanwhile, having recovered from his calf injury, missed the game after picking up a hamstring problem in training.

 

Friday, April 3, 2009. 

Optimistic news on both Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Chris Iwelumo.  Both strikers are set to return to training ahead of Monday night's game with Birmingham after calf and thigh problems respectively.  Matt Jarvis is also expected to be fit for the game.

 

Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

Unfortunately it has been confirmed that Michael Kightly suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in yesterday's reserve game with Shrewsbury.  The injury will require an operation and has put the winger out for the rest of the season.

 

Friday, March 27, 2009.

Matt Jarvis has had the last in a serious of injections on his knee and is now hoping to return to training next week in order to try and be available for the trip to Birmingham.

Keeper Darren Ward has returned to parent club Sunderland for assessment and treatment on the back injury which has been causing him problems.

 

Wednesday March 25, 2009.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has returned to Compton for assessment and treatment after withdrawing from the England-under-21 squad. Sylvan picked up a calf strain in training with England but Wolves' medical staff are cautiously optimistic he will have recovered in time for Wolves' trip to Birmingham on April 6.

Matt Jarvis is a confirmed absentee for tomorrow's game at Nottingham Forest. As stated earlier in the week, Mick is confident he will be ready to return against Birmingham on April 6. 

 

Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

Mick has revealed that winger Matt Jarvis is unlikely to be fit for Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest due to the medial knee ligament injury which has kept him out since the game with Cardiff on February 21. But if Matt doesn't make it, he will then have a 16-day break to complete his recovery before the trip to Birmingham.  Carl Ikeme is continuing his recovery from a back injury but will not be rushed.  Nigel Quashie is set to play in the Development friendly with Rushden & Diamonds as he continues to work towards full fitness after being laid low for over a week with a chest infection. Keeper Darren Ward is struggling with a sore back.

 

Wednesday, March 11, 2009.

Academy defender Johnny Dunleavy damaged his medial knee ligaments in the Development Friendly against Crewe. Johnny will now start his rehabilitation programme.

 

Saturday, March 7, 2009.

Matt Murray and George Elokobi have both received positive news following a visit to their knee specialist in London.  Matt, who ruptured his patella tendon while on loan at Hereford in November, will continue his gym work and treatment with a view to returning to light jogging and handling work within two months. George has re-started light jogging after his serious knee injury sustained at Ipswich last August. Both players are still on-target for a pre-season return.

 

Friday, March 6, 2009.

Young midfielder Matt Bailey has picked up an ankle ligament injury in training.  Matt is now on crutches as he begins his rehabilitation.
