21,075 children in Wolverhampton, aged five to eleven, have registered to take part in a two-kilometre national fun run, as part of the Tesco Great School Run.

They join a staggering 1,038,218 nationwide youngsters to play their part in the Tesco Great School Run this year, making this the biggest campaign in its five-year history.

While thousands of schools across the country hosted their own fun runs, in a special finale today (Friday 19^th June), 1,000 pupils sprinted into Aldersley Leisure Village to complete a specially designed course cheered on by Olympic athletes, Colin Jackson, Katharine Merry, Leon Taylor and Benita Johnson.
