Wolves have today launched Wolves 4 Family Football, a major new campaign aimed at encouraging more families to Molineux.
To mark the launch, Wolves are announcing a Wolves 4 Family Football special ticket offer. Families can buy 4 tickets for £40 at 4 designated matches: Burnley (8th Nov 2008), Barnsley (13th Dec 2008), Preston (10th Jan 2009) and Plymouth (28th Feb 2009).
The ticket will entitle 2 adults and 2 juniors (under 17) entry to the Steve Bull lower tier, where Wolves will be creating a special family atmosphere. Supporters can expect to see face painters, jugglers and football skills competitions to name just some of the fun activities on offer.
Tickets are available in advance (from 30th August 2008) for any of the designated matches by calling the TicketLine: 0871 222 1877. Families will also be able to secure car parking in close proximity to the stadium. Car park tickets can be booked at the same time for an additional £5.
Wolves are also planning to open a new family orientated Information Centre next to the Ticket Office. Designed to provide a child friendly welcome, families will be able to source a range of information about everything Wolves.
Wolves already has over 2000 supporters in its Family enclosure and only recently has supported the Football League's 'Enjoy the Match' campaign designed to create a better family friendly atmosphere at football matches.
Jez Moxey, Chief Executive, Wolves, said: "This is a long-term move by the club to encourage more young fans through the gates. We've spent a long time speaking to families, supporters and the Fans Parliament. Their feedback has fed directly into designing the Wolves 4 Family Football campaign. From the specific ticketing special offer, right through to a dedicated Family Information Centre, we feel we are providing a very welcoming family club experience."
Football League Chairman, Lord Mawhinney, said: "We'd like to praise this latest move by Wolves to encourage fans of the future to Molineux.Young supporters will be the lifeblood of our clubs in years to come. It is therefore vitally important that we encourage more parents to bring their children into our grounds by creating a vibrant, family friendly atmosphere at all matches."
A Selection of Wolves Fans' Parliament Comments
Georgie Savage: "This is a great idea for encouraging youngsters along to matches as they are, after all, the future of Wolves and should be encouraged like this. A Wolves 4 Family Football ticket will also make a great Christmas present. "
Ryan Leister: "As we all agreed in the meeting, what a great idea! What a fantastic way to have a family day out at the football. Fair play to Wolves for giving families , who may not be able to take everyone to a game, this opportunity."
Richard Harries: "As I mentioned in the Parliament meeting, I think the Wolves 4 Family Football initiative is a fantastic idea that will benefit local families who perhaps wouldn't ordinarily attend a game together. Having that extra bit of excitement in the ground will no doubt help the atmosphere, and hopefully two more kids will fall in love with Wolves and become fans for life! A great idea.
Jon Maslen-Jones : "Kids represent the future of football and any initiative to encourage more children to come to a game has got to be seen as a big plus for the club."
