Glenavon 0 Wolves 1 (Dembele-pen 48)
The Development squad's mini tour of Northern Ireland reached a satisfactory conclusion with the 1-0 victory over Glenavon making it two wins out of two on the trip for Steve Weaver's youngsters.
The game was a benefit for Daniel Wright (pictured) who joined the Wolves Academy from the Irish club only to have his career ended almost before it had began through a heart condition.
On a superb pitch at Glenavon's Mourneview Park, Daniel played for the first minute kicking the ball out for a throw-in the first time that he touched it before leaving the field to rapturous applause to be replaced by Daniel East.
The first 20 minutes of the game saw Glenavon calling the shots with striker Trevor Molloy, in particular, testing the visiting defence.
Johnny Dunleavy did well to get the ball behind for a corner as Molloy raced through on goal before Wolves started to work their way into the game.
James Spray was thwarted by a last ditch tackle and a dangerous looking cross from Jamie Reckord was gathered by home keeper Andrew Plummer.
In the 31st minute a good ball from Spray found Nathan Rooney whose shot was scrambled away by Plummer and then, moments later, the midfielder fired narrowly wide of the post.
Half-Time: Glenavon 0 Wolves 0
Three minutes after the resumption Wolves were awarded a penalty following Kyle Neill's challenge on Mana Dembele who picked himself up and despatched a low, hard shot past Plummer from the spot.
It took a timely tackle from Stuart King to prevent an almost certain second goal for Dembele as the game maintained a fierce competitive edge.
Substitute keeper Aljaz Cotman saved a snapshot from Brendon Shannon before Wright returned to the field for the final 10 minutes - this time for Glenavon.
Andre Landell's low cross just eluded Rooney and Dembele whilst at the other end Cotmen made a fine save in keeping out a drive from King.
In the closing minutes, Wright saved from Rooney, David Davis shot narrowly over the bar and Dembele missed an easy chance after he had been set up by Scott Malone.
