Wolves under 18s completed an Academy League double over Liverpool when they won 2-1 on Merseyside at the weekend.
The Molineux youngsters had won by the same scoreline at Compton Park in November but slipped to a 2-0 defeat when the sides met in the FA Youth Cup at Anfield.
Coach Mick Halsall said: "We had already played Liverpool a couple of times this season and so we knew it would be a difficult game from the off and that's how it turned out.
"We started well producing some good attacks by getting the ball wide. The lads were playing with lots of confidence and they got the first goal after 15 minutes from a well taken corner that was delivered by Kyle Bennett and finished off by Andre Landell (pictured) who scored with a looping header.
"After the goal I felt that we eased off a little and that allowed Liverpool to come into the game more and they equalised after poor defending by our two centre halves who got caught out.
"This made the game very tight with both teams finding it hard to break each other down in the rest of the first half.
"I thought we started well after the break and we dominated large periods of the game without really looking a threat until we scored our second goal four minutes from time following good play down our right side. The final ball across by Jack Metcalf was a quality one and Landell was there once again to finish it off from close range.
"We did have a couple more chances that we didn't convert so the game was evenly balanced up to the final whistle with the referee playing seven minutes of added time.
"It was a good hard working performance from the players and hopefully they will have gained confidence from it to get themselves playing, once again, with the belief they had at the start of the season."
