Academy Stoked In Potters Defeat
The Potters, who have now lost just once in 11 games, ensured they took the points thanks to goals from striker Adam Vickers and a brace from Matt Cohen.
James Spray scored a good goal for Wolves which had levelled matters at 1-1 but the team paid the penalty for defensive frailties at set pieces.
"It was a disappointing result and one which came about because of conceding three goals from set plays," said Assistant Academy Manager and Under-18s coach Mick Halsall.
"When we'd got back to 1-1 with a good goal from James, I thought we were in the ascendancy at that point and that we had a real chance of going on to win the game.
"But then we went to on to concede two poor goals, firstly from a free kick and then from a corner.
"The biggest factor we have passed on to the lads is that they have to be able to defend these situations.
"The general play during the game was of a good quality and we probably produced the better football but players have to take responsibility at set piece situations and we shouldn't be conceding in the manner that we did.
"As a result we were punished, but it gives us something to address in training over the next couple of weeks before our next game."
