There was a familiar face in charge of the opposition when the Academy under 18s travelled to Derby at the weekend.
Former Molineux Academy coach John Perkins left Wolves to link up with Nigel Clough's backroom team at Pride Park last spring.
But it was John's former club that came out on top thanks to a last minute winner from 17-year-old Aaron King.
County enjoyed much of the attacking play in the opening half and they took the lead after 28 minutes following a mistake in visitors' midfield when possession was conceded allowing a finish from 18-yards.
Then, shortly before the break, Derby lost the services of Callum Keane who was sent-off for a late challenge on Nathan Rooney.
The red card had an almost immediate effect on the game as Wolves pulled level in the 43rd minute when Andre Landell converted a cross Zele Ismail.
It was Wolves' turn to dominate after the break but the pressure didn't pay off until the final minute when Rooney powered into the Derby area and slipped the ball to King who made no mistake.
Academy manager Kevin Thelwell said: "We are unbeaten in four and it was another match where we have come from behind to win. It's the third time that we have done that and it shows the boys have got tremendous resilience.
"They are quite a young group who have faced some very strong teams containing older boys so I think they have been terrific.
"James Spray and Nat Laing have been playing senior football and to lose players like them, and still be able to achieve, shows how well the Academy lads have done."
