Kids Hit Back

Posted on: Tue 01 Sep 2009

The Wolves under 18s had to fight back from two goals down to secure a point when Reading visited Compton Park.

The Molineux youngsters failed to get a grip on the early proceedings and they leaked two goals inside the first 25 minutes.

The Royals were full value for their lead at the break but the second-half was a completely different story after some reorganising from coach Mick Halsall.

But it wasn't until ten minutes from the end that Wanderers reduced the deficit when first year scholar Liam McAlinden converted from close range after he had latched onto a rebound.

And the game was deep into injury time when the equaliser arrived. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing displayed his skills in creating an opening for Nathan Rooney who coolly took full advantage to level things up.
