The Academy under 18s wind up their campaign this weekend with a home game against one of the season's most consistent youth teams - Manchester City.
The Sky Blues have lost just once in the League and they also made it through to the last four of the FA Youth Cup before losing to Arsenal.
In November Wolves held City to a draw in Manchester but Academy Manager Kevin Thelwell knows his players will need a much improved showing if they are to take anything from Saturday's game after a disappointing 5-2 reversal against Nottingham Forest at Compton Park last weekend.
He said: "The score looks like we have had a real good hiding but, in truth, there wasn't that much in it. We went into the interval level and, to be perfectly honest, we were disappointed with that because we should have been ahead.
"Forest took the lead early on but we quickly got back on level terms through Sam Winnall. Nat Laing did well when he cut inside and then switched the ball to Zele Ismail on the far side. Zele sent over a great cross and Sam slid in to score.
"Nat was also involved in our second goal when he crossed for Sam to score again - this time with a half volley. But, in stoppage time, some poor marking allowed Forest to equalize.
"During the break we talked about keeping things tight at the back and taking our chances up front. Unfortunately we did neither.
"Individual errors proved costly and we conceded three goals. We did have chances, hitting the bar twice and the post once, but it wasn't a happy 45 minutes for us.
"In fairness to our lads, the Forest team was a lot more experienced than ours. They had ten under 18s and an under 19 whilst we had three under 16s and an under 15 in our side. But the game will have given our youngsters some useful experience.
"The Forest coach, Nick Marshall, was very complimentary about our players after the game and he said to me that 'there wasn't a lick of paint between the teams'. That summed it up for me."
The game against Manchester City at Compton Park kicks-off at 11am.
