It was a game of two penalties when Wolves and Everton under 18s met at Compton Park today.
Wolves took the lead through a Sam Winnall spot kick with the Merseysiders netting with a penalty of there own shortly before the end.
The game was brought forward 24 hours to allow the Wolves team extra time to prepare for their FA Youth Cup fixture at Leicester on Wednesday.
Coach John Perkins said: "Richard Woolley had to tip a shot against the bar in the early stages. It was one of two good saves he made in the opening minutes.
"But we began to take the upper hand and took the lead in the 30th minute after Sam Winnall (pictured) had been tripped as he ran into the Everton box.
"He managed to get back to his feet and found the net but the referee had already blown for the spot kick. Sam kept his nerve and scored with the penalty.
"John Dunleavy fired over some good crosses and from one of them, Ashley Hemmings shot just wide.
"At the back Danny Batth was making some powerful headed clearances in a half that I felt we just about shaded.
"After the break Kyle Bennett was just too high with a shot after he had met a good centre from Scott Malone.
"But, twelve minutes from time Everton equalised from the spot after Fungandel Moke had tripped one of their strikers. Tom McCready scored for The Toffees.
"In those last few minutes Everton piled on the pressure and Richard Woolley had to be at his best but looking at the overall picture, I thought we had done enough to have won."
