Wolves Youth 0   Derby Youth 1

Wolves' youth team suffered yet another narrow defeat after failing to capitalise on the many chances they created in the second half against Derby County.

The visitors took the lead after 15 minutes, Billy Lumley being beaten by a shot from 15 yards out.

The Wolves keeper was called upon several more times during the first period, with his side having only one clear cut chance when Aristote Guerin-Lokonga failed to put away a one-on-one chance against the Rams keeper on 25 minutes.

The hosts switched from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 after the break and the change resulted in the creation of far more opportunities.

Sam Winnall had two good chances, with only the keeper to beat, but couldn't find the net. Nor could Ashley Hemmings, who was also put clear through.

Wolves were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute but Kyle Bennett fired wide of the target.

Coach John Perkins says: "The second half was our best performances so far this season in terms of creating chances. But we have got to learn to put them away.

"We are narrowly losing games but we are improving in terms of getting ourselves into goalscoring positions and so the results will come."
