Youngsters Quiz The Skipper!

Posted on: Wed 02 Nov 2011

Wolves skipper Roger Johnson took time out recently to pass on his experience and advice to the club's Academy players.

All of the full-time scholars, as well as some of the Development squad as well, were able to quiz the skipper in a question and answer session held at the club's Compton training ground.

The session was organised as part of the off-field programme of activities for the Academy youngsters organised by mentors Mike Wood and Jeff Whitley.

"The lads were able to ask Roger questions about his experiences in football as another part of the programme put in place to further their personal development," said Academy manager Kevin Thelwell.

"It is always important for the youngsters to be able to hear first-hand from those players who have come through and succeeded in the professional game, and it was great that Roger gave up his time to pass on his knowledge and advice."

Wood and Whitley, who spend one day a week at Compton, have scheduled various different visits from guest speakers to broaden the scholars' experiences alongside their football and education work.
