Wolves Women 0
Bradford City Ladies 2 (Crosby 33, Omboyi 64)
Wolves Women suffered a setback in their fight against relegation as they fell to defeat at home to Bradford City.
The visitors started quickly, passing the ball well and forcing Wolves to chase the game from the outset.
Both sides struggled to create chances in the opening half an hour as defences held firm, but Bradford were able to break the deadlock from a corner after a half-cleared ball fell to Paige Crosby on the edge of the box. Crosby took a touch before rifling an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net.
The second half saw a familiar pattern, as Wolves struggled to find their rhythm and trouble the Bradford defence. The away side sealed the game after the hour mark when Caroline Omboyi was found unmarked at the edge of the area, and she was able to find the top corner.
A late rally saw Dani Selmes have a firm shot saved, but Wolves were well beaten in the end.
Manager Trevor Mullings was left frustrated. He said: “I’m disappointed with our lacklustre performance.
“We found it difficult to retain the ball and play out of our own half.
“Bradford were more determined and deserved the win and we must regain the form we have shown in our last few games.”
