Wolves have been shortlisted for the ‘Family Club of the Year’ Award as part of the 2014 Football League Awards.
The Awards, which celebrate on and off the pitch achievements across the League’s clubs, are held every year in London.
Wolves are just one of six clubs shortlisted for the prestigious award along with Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Birmingham City, Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle.
The Club has been shortlisted for its continued work to attract families and Fans of the Future via initiatives such as Wolves 4 Family Football, Wolves 7’s campaign (targeting young supporters with special offers at a crucial age when they’re deciding which club to support), Youth Parliament, Family welcome volunteers and the My First Match initiative.
All Clubs also received a ‘mystery fan visit’ to a match and the Wolves’ report praised the warm welcome at Molineux and the service from staff and stewards.
Wolves won the Family Club of the Year (Championship) in 2009.
Lynne O’Reardon, Head of Ticketing & Membership, Wolves, said, “We’re very pleased to be one of six clubs shortlisted for the award out of the 72 Football League clubs.
“We have a long term strategy to attract Fans of the Future to the Club, which has been in place for a number of years. It’s great to get this external recognition and it hopefully sends a good message to our fans that we’re doing the right things in trying to get as many youngsters through our gates as possible.”
The award winner will be announced on 16th March 2014 in London.
