Wolves are delighted to confirm the appointment of Joe Gallen as Assistant Head Coach.
Gallen will again link up with Head Coach Kenny Jackett after the two forged an successful partnership together at Millwall.
“Joe was an integral part of what Kenny achieved when they were together at Millwall,” said Wolves Head of Football Development and Recruitment Kevin Thelwell.
“They know each other very well having both worked at Queens Park Rangers prior to that.
“We anticipate Joe is going to be a very important part of Wolves going forward.
“He is a really good fit for Kenny, and a really good fit for Wolves, and we are delighted that he has joined us.”
Gallen, the eldest of three footballing brothers – Kevin and Stephen completing the set – represented Watford, Exeter and Shrewsbury as a player and the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.
A back injury ended his career at the age of 26, but from there he quickly moved into a coaching career and had completed all his qualifications by the age of 28.
Having worked at all levels of the club both at QPR and Millwall, as well as assistant manager at Exeter City, Gallen has built up an impressive reputation particularly for his work with younger players.
As Jackett’s right hand man at Millwall, the club secured promotion from League One and consolidation in the Championship, including last season's run to the FA Cup Semi Finals at Wembley where the Lions were edged out by eventual winners Wigan.
Wolves would like to welcome Joe to the club and wish him every success in his new role.
More on the appointment will follow next week.
