Many of Dave Wagstaffe’s former team-mates will join members of his family in paying tribute to the Wolves legend with a minute’s applause before Saturday’s game with Gillingham at Molineux.
At the request of the Wagstaffe family, supporters at Saturday’s game will be asked to join in a minute’s applause in memory of the club legend, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 70.
Former Wolves players invited to be present to pay tribute to their much-loved former colleague include Phil Parkes, John McAlle, John Richards, Kenny Hibbitt, Derek Parkin, Geoff Palmer, Steve Daley, Mel Eves, Willie Carr, Terry Wharton, Gerry O’Hara, Danny Hegan, Fred Davies and Phil Nicholls.
There is also a five-page tribute to the former Wolves winger – who made over 400 appearances for the club during 12 years at Molineux – in the matchday programme, to include of course page 11, and Waggy also features on the cover.
Fans planning to join in the minute’s applause are advised to allow plenty of time to enter the stadium well in time for kick off.
There have also been suggestions from supporters on Social Media to also applaud again in the 11th minute of the game, marking the number which Wagstaffe sported during his Wolves career.
