Alvechurch 2 (Luckie57, Edmunds 89)
Wolves 0
The Wolves under 21s bowed out of this season’s Birmingham Senior Cup losing 2-0 to Alvechurch on a quagmire of a pitch at Lye Meadow.
Fast flowing football was impossible on the sticky surface and clear cut chances for either side were few and far between.
Jordan Cranston sliced a shot wide in the opening minutes and, for Alvechurch, Jazz Luckie wasn’t far away with a long range drive.
Liam McAlinden did find the back of the Alvechurch net in the 26th minute but a lineman’s flag cut short any celebrations.
Just before the break Omar Sterling-James tested Aljaz Cotman with a 20-yard volley.

After the break McAlinden fired wide of the far post after cutting into the left of the home area before home keeper Liam Maher made a terrific diving save to keep out a header from Jamie Tank.
Alvechurch took the lead in the 57th minute when Luckie hit a low shot from outside the box that flew past Aljaz Cotman.
Maher saved well from Cranston and Jack Price and then Jamie Reckord hit a thunderous effort from fully 30 yards that was inches too high.
After absorbing heavy pressure Alvechurch broke away to confirm their passage into the third round with a second goal as Ryan Edmunds ran onto a through pass and beat Cotman two minutes from time.
