Testimonial year kicks off

The countdown is on for the start of Jody Craddock’s Testimonial Year as it will be officially launched on Wednesday 4th September with an exclusive training session led by the legend himself.

A select number of places are available (details below) for the first in a series of Testimonial events, which is being held at the state-of-the-art Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground in Wolverhampton. Alongside the Wolves and Sunderland legend will be Jody’s former team mate at Molineux Matt Murray, while it’s hoped – subject to availability – that Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett will also make an appearance.

The ‘JC1’ Training Day is a great opportunity to mingle with a pair of Wolves legends and live the life of a footballer for the day. It includes a tour of the Category One training facility, breakfast for the participants and then it’s onto the training ground, where Jody and Matt will put you through your paces with a warm up and skills sessions. That’s followed by two small sided games and a Buffet lunch. You can then quiz the former professionals in a Q&A to end what will be a day to remember forever.

Wolves’ kit supplier PUMA have also kindly agreed to provide training tops for all of the participants on the day.

Thirty-eight-year-old Craddock, who officially retired at the end of the 2012/13 season, was awarded a testimonial in the summer.  The popular defender is also fondly remember by Sunderland supporters for his six years at the Stadium of Light, while over 500 career appearances also included a spell at Cambridge United.

Jody will be raising money for two charities throughout the year, Balls to Cancer, for whom he is a patron, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where his son Toby has received excellent care after being diagnosed for leukaemia.

He’s looking forward to what’s in store during his Testimonial Year and hinted at what’s to come:

“Hopefully we will be able to put on some different events – including a match at Molineux – which supporters will find enjoyable.

“It is very early days but it would be great to get the 2008/09 promotion team at Wolves involved during the year in some capacity, as well as perhaps some of my former team-mates from Sunderland where I also spent six happy years.

“We will have to see what we can come up with, but I am looking forward to hopefully meeting as many fans as possible during the year and raising some money for charity.”

Throughout the year, Jody will be looking to interact with fans at his events and via the Official Testimonial Twitter page @JC6Testimonial. There will be more opportunities to get involved with his Testimonial at future events, but the first one, the JC1 Training Day is an event not to be missed, so book your place now!

The price is £149 per person – contact the Commercial Department to book a place on 0871 222 2220 (option 4).
