Bakary Sako has received his first senior international call-up for Mali and is set to join up with the squad for next Wednesday’s friendly against Senegal in Paris.
Sako was born in France and has previously played for the French Under-21 side, but his parents are from Mali and he has represented that country at Under-17 level.
“I am very pleased to have received the call-up and am looking forward to joining up with the squad next week,” says Sako.
“If I am involved it would be my first experience of senior international football which would be a good experience and a benefit to my game.”
Sako has been in impressive form for Wolves in recent weeks, and over the season has notched eight goals as well as several assists.
