Wolves’ only home pre-season friendly – and Head Coach Kenny Jackett’s first game in charge at Molineux – will be against Spanish La Liga outfit Real Betis.
The fixture will take place on Saturday, July 27, a week before Wolves kick off the npower League One season, with a 3pm kick off.
Real Betis finished seventh in La Liga after rounding off the season with a 1-1 draw at Levante on Saturday.
It was their second successive season back in La Liga having won the Spanish Second Division title in the 2010/11 campaign.
Not so long ago they were also Copa Del Rey winners, lifting the Spanish cup competition with victory against Osasuna in 2005.
The game should provide Wolves with a good test a week ahead of the start of the regular season, and continues the trend of facing Spanish opposition in friendlies at Molineux.
In 2009 Wolves were beaten 2-0 by Real Valladolid before overcoming Athletic Bilbao 2-1 in 2010 and Real Zaragoza 2-0 in 2011.
There was no Molineux friendly last pre-season due to the early start for the Capital One Cup as Wolves faced Aldershot prior to the Championship campaign.
The game with Real Betis is the fourth fixed up for Wolves for pre-season, on the back of away fixtures at Wrexham (July 16), Barnsley (July 20) and Chesterfield (July 23).
And it will be Jackett’s first competitive return to Molineux since last November when, as Millwall manager, he masterminded a 1-0 victory over his current charges.
Ticket details will be announced as soon as they are finalised.
