Wolves winger Slawomir Peszko is set to be sidelined for an expected three months after a scan revealed he sustained a torn medial ligament in Tuesday’s defeat by Crystal Palace.
The Polish international was stretchered off with the knee injury following a tackle in the early stages of the second half at Molineux.
A scan has revealed the extent of the damage which now leaves summer signing Peszko facing an expected three months on the sidelines.
The news comes at a time when another winger Razak Boukari is out for an anticipated four to five weeks with the torn calf sustained in the early stages of the game with Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday.
Boss Ståle Solbakken’s plans for tomorrow’s trip to Blackburn have been further hampered after striker Björn Sigurdarson was sent home with illness after reporting to Compton today.
Meanwhile, as revealed by the boss earlier this week, Stephen Hunt is to undergo surgery next week to cure a long-standing hip problem.
