Wolves victory over Birmingham City on Easter Monday has been nominated as the F&C Investments Performance of the Week.
The award, which is supported by the League Managers Association, came in the shape of an engraved crystal football which was presented to Dean Saunders by Sky presenter Johnny Phillips.
The LMA panel consisted of Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry.
Dean said: “I’m delighted to receive this award. I think that the players have gained in confidence as we have gone along and we seem to have hit form at the right time.
“We are not out of the mire yet though. We’ve got a difficult game at Bolton on Saturday and then another big game, this time against Huddersfield.”
The boss admitted that the team’s fate is in its own hands saying: “We’ve got six games left and I’d like to think that we can win the next two or three of them so we won’t have to go into the last couple knowing that we needed a win (to stop up). Hopefully, we can get it done early.”
