England are playing San Marino tonight, Friday 12th October, so there are no Premier League games this weekend. But there’s no need for a wasted Saturday – get involved in Non-League Day 2012!
Hundreds of non-League clubs across the country – including plenty here in the Midlands – are also kicking off at the usual time of 3pm on Saturday, 13th October, and many are getting involved with the event by offering cut-price tickets, holding community days, ground-hops and other innovative ways of sharing in the spirit of Non-League Day.
AFC Telford United, who play at New Bucks Head, will be hosting Grimsby Town in the Blue Square Bet Premier. As Wolves fans know, their stadium also hosts our reserve team fixtures, and the best news is: if you show your Wolves season ticket at Telford office by 2pm, you can see the Bucks play the Mariners for just £5!
Many local clubs are run solely by volunteers and rely heavily on support from the community for their survival. Also down the road from Molineux, AFC Wulfrunians are hosting Tipton, Chorley are visiting Rushall Olympic and Stourbridge play host to St Neot’s Town – amongst many others all around the Black Country!
