Michael Jacobs has been named Sky Bet League One player of the month for February after his impressive run of form continued.
The ambitious winger scored four goals in Wolves’ three wins in the month, including a brace in the 3-0 victory at then table-topping Brentford.
Head Coach Kenny Jackett, who himself had been nominated for the Manager of the Month award, said: “I think it is well deserved for Michael, who has been excellent.
“His performances have been very impressive and he has chipped in with some vital goals.
“He has continued his improvement here, as have the rest of the team.
“I am pleased for him individually, and also pleased for the team that one of their group has been recognised.”
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman, part of the judging panel, said: “It’s been goals galore for Jacobs in February and he thoroughly deserves his Player of the Month award.
“Kenny Jackett will be hoping that he can continue this great form as they look to cement an automatic promotion place.”
Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: “The former Northampton and Derby County youngster has really made an impact since his move to Wolves became permanent in January.
“His brace in the away victory to high-flying Brentford was the highlight of a very impressive month.”
As for the man himself, Jacobs thanked his team-mates for their help in giving him a platform to perform as he has been.
He said: “It was a nice surprise to be nominated for the award and even better to actually win it.
“But it’s not just about me, it’s also about the whole team effort and it’s only thanks to them that I have picked up the award.
“I’m really enjoying my football at the moment, as we all are, but we know there is a very long way to go.
“None of us can rest on what we have done so far and the season will only be a successful one if we can go on from here and win promotion.”
