Kenny Jackett and Dave Edwards are among the nominations for the Sky Bet League One Manager and Player awards for April.
April was the month in which Wolves clinched both promotion and then the League One title, continuing their blistering New Year form by remaining unbeaten and taking 14 points from six games.
At either end of the month Wolves picked up hard-earned points away at Stevenage and Coventry but in between won four games scoring 13 goals in the process.
Victories came against Peterborough, Crewe, Rotherham and Leyton Orient, thus including three teams who will contest the League One play-offs.
Jackett has enjoyed an excellent first season as Wolves’ Head Coach, guiding the team not only to promotion but also a series of club records, including the highest points tally in their history – 100 – ahead of Saturday’s final game of the season with Carlisle.
And the month of April certainly put to bed any suggestions that the Manager of the Month award is cursed, Jackett having won his first accolade of the season in March!
He is up against Sheffield United’s Nigel Clough, Peterborough’s Darren Ferguson and Oldham’s Lee Johnson.
For Edwards, April continued his run of impressive form since returning to the team.
He scored four goals in the six games and also contributed with a number of assists to play a major part in a month in which Wolves played some excellent attacking football. The other players nominated are Rotherham’s Kieran Agard, Preston’s Paul Gallagher and Jack Grealish, currently on loan to Notts County from Aston Villa
