Young Wolves duo Zeli Ismail and Jonathan Flatt have signed professional contracts which will tie them both to Molineux until the summer of 2015.
Winger Ismail was heading into the last year of his previous deal before putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year extension while it is goalkeeper Flatt’s first professional contract after impressing during his Academy scholarship.
Discussions are also continuing with several other young prospects as Wolves aim to give developing players every possible chance to move through the ranks towards senior level.
“We are talking to several of our younger players at the current time, and are delighted to have reached agreement with Zeli and Jonathan,” says CEO Jez Moxey.
“It is the next stage along each of their respective developments, but it is just the next stage, and they both know they need – and indeed want – to continue improving.
“Zeli has been a regular in the new Under-21 team which has performed well this season, and also made a brief senior debut as a substitute in the Capital One Cup tie at Chelsea in September.
“With his future now secured he can concentrate on continuing his progress within the Development Squad and aiming to fulfil his potential.
“Jonathan is the latest in a long line of promising goalkeepers to have emerged from our Academy.
“He has a great deal to live up to when you consider the likes of Matt Murray, Wayne Hennessey and Carl Ikeme, but with his first professional contract now signed can also focus on continuing to work hard learning his trade with the hope of one day following in their footsteps.
“So it’s a big well done to both players, and everyone at the Club looks forward to seeing them continuing to improve over the next two-and-a-half years.”
