Wayne Hennessey has joined Yeovil Town on loan for a month.
The Welsh international keeper had been lined up to join the Glovers at the end of last week only to suffer a minor injury whilst warming up ahead of Wales’ international friendly with the Republic of Ireland.
Yeovil however have now return for Hennessey, who is now fully fit but hasn’t enjoyed a senior appearance since sustaining the first of two cruciate knee ligament injuries in April, 2012.
Hennessey did figure for Wolves’ during pre-season, but with Carl Ikeme starting the campaign as Kenny Jackett’s first choice and impressing so far, the regular Welsh number one will now get the chance to build up his match fitness with the Championship newcomers.
The initial loan spell is for a calendar month until September 21, after which it will be reviewed, but Football League rules offer openings in terms of recalling goalkeepers within that period if required.
Hennessey is due to train with Yeovil today ahead of a potential debut at home to Derby on Saturday.
