Everyone at Wolves would like to thank our supporters for all of their backing through a difficult 2012 when we lost our Premier League status after three years in the top flight.
Despite that huge disappointment, fans’ reaction to relegation at home against Manchester City and then in the final away games at Swansea and Wigan showed the positive spirit and humour of just what Wolves supporters are all about.
As the banner held up in the South Bank read: “We'll be back.”
With a new manager at the helm in Ståle Solbakken, the club has set about the process of a fresh approach aiming to improve the long-term future prospects which includes a restructure of the staff that has seen Kevin Thelwell appointed as Head of Football Development and Recruitment.
As things stand nobody – Ståle, the backroom staff, Board or the players – is happy with where Wolves are in the league.
Work goes on to improve the team’s position and, with 21 league games still to come this season, win as many points as possible and climb the table.
That can only be achieved with a continuation of the fans’ excellent backing, with the management and players keen to bounce back from two poor performances at Molineux over the Christmas period.
The attached picture montage shows some of the events and key moments from 2012 – hopefully next year’s will tell a much happier story.
So Happy New Year and thanks for all the support, which is appreciated by everybody at the club.
As the city’s motto says: “Out of Darkness Cometh Light” – hopefully starting at Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day!
