Bob Laslett stands down

Bob Laslett, Wolves Director and Chairman/Global CEO of Chaucer Group, has resigned from the Club’s Board effective 1st January 2013 to dedicate more time to his successful and expanding international consultancy business.

Bob became a Director of the Club in January 2008 and, as a lifelong fan, cited former ‘inside forward’ Peter Broadbent as the player who inspired him to become a Wolves supporter.

Bob Laslett, said, “It’s been a boyhood ambition of mine to serve the Club and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to be part of the Wolves Board.

“My day job requires a lot of global travel and unfortunately, going forwards, I can’t dedicate the time to the role that I would ideally like.

“I wish to thank Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey who instigated my invitation to join the Board, my fellow directors, the fans and everyone at the Club.  It’s been a great honour to serve with the people involved at Molineux – they are truly committed to the success of the Club.

“As a lifelong fan I remain a dedicated supporter, and sponsor, of this great Club and nothing would please me more than seeing Ståle and the players lead us back to the Premier League where we belong.”

Owner and Chairman Steve Morgan, said, “Bob’s business acumen and experience has been extremely valuable to me and the Club during his tenure on the Board.  He is a great friend of Wolves.

“As a dedicated and passionate supporter, he cares deeply about Wolves on and off the pitch.  He has invested both his time and a lot of money to help our efforts for which we are very grateful.  On behalf of everyone at the Club, I’d like to thank him very much for his contributions.”

Chaucer Group will continue their sponsorship of the Wolves Academy, which saw three players make their top flight debuts last season.  Chaucer were Wolves main Club sponsor from 2004 before handing over to Sportingbet once Wolves had been promoted to the Premier League in 2009.

There are no current plans to replace Bob and the Wolves Board will now comprise of: Steve Morgan (Chairman), Jez Moxey (Chief Executive), John Bowater (Director) and John Gough (Director).
