Wolves have made a beat-the-deadline swoop for Wigan forward Nouha Dicko, who will join the club until the end of the season subject to Football League ratification.
The deal was completed just prior to the emergency loan window shutting at 5pm and, providing all is confirmed, the pacey 20-year-old will link up with the squad tomorrow to be available for Saturday’s visit of Middlesbrough.
Dicko follows the arrival of goalkeeper Marian Kello earlier in the day, the free agent having joined as goalkeeping cover until the end of the season.
“It has been difficult to bring players in but we have managed to bring in two new faces,” said boss Dean Saunders.
“We needed to do something having lost three players a fortnight ago, and Nouha will bring something different for us.
“He is a young player with good pace and that is something I think will be important for us over the final eight games.
“He is someone who can play across any of the forward positions, whether out wide or down the middle, and I think that pace could be vital especially away from home.
“He’s due to join up with us tomorrow provided the confirmation goes through and will be available for selection for Saturday’s game.”
Dicko was born in France and started his senior career with Strasbourg before joining Wigan in August, 2011.
His opportunities with the Latics have been limited to three FA Cup appearances and one in the Carling Cup.
Dicko has scored nine goals during two separate loan spells with Blackpool, despite most of his appearances coming from the bench.
