Dave Edwards has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with the hamstring injury which saw him stretchered off in Saturday’s 4-1 win at Bristol City.
The Welsh international midfielder has suffered a Grade Two tear which will now see him ruled out for up to two months.
The news comes as a blow to Wolves and Edwards, who has been in good form in recent weeks and had helped the team into their commanding lead at Ashton Gate prior to his 60th minute departure.
“It is disappointing that he picked up a bad injury,” said boss Ståle Solbakken.
“We don’t have so many players with the experience that Dave has.
“In the last four or five games he has been up to a good standard in his performances.”
