Jez thanks fans after excellent take-up

Wolves can today reveal an Early Bird take-up of 10, 308 supporters renewing their season tickets for the 2014/15 season.

That figure represents an 88 per cent renewal rate, with the Early Bird scheme having been open to 11,770 existing season ticket holders.

This is the second highest renewal percentage of the 13 years the Early Bird scheme has been run.

The figure compares to 9, 036 supporters who renewed their season tickets via Early Bird last year, when with the ‘Extra Time’ window the offer was open to all supporters.

The Early Bird renewal rate of 57 per cent last year was the lowest since the scheme was launched in 2002.

Further sales in the summer and then via the Half Season Ticket scheme pushed the figure up to the 11,770 existing holders eligible for the Early Bird this year.‎

“I would like to thank all those season ticket holders who have renewed their tickets for the 2014/15 season via the Early Bird scheme,” said CEO Jez Moxey.

“To reach an 88 per cent renewal rate is testament once again to the loyalty of our supporters and also their belief and optimism in the new direction of the team.

“Kenny and the staff have done an excellent job building a new and fresh team and from talking with supporters we know fans are enjoying the season so far.

“We also know there is still a very long way to go, importantly this season and in future yearsas well, but everyone connected with Wolves now has reason to be optimistic and excited about what lies ahead.

“The Club can only be successful with the fans’ support which has been tremendous so far this season, not only in terms of the numbers home and away, but also in the manner of the vocal backing given to a young and developing team. This has given them the opportunity and belief to play their football free from any added expectation or pressure.

The fans’ support is being discussed among the players much of the time, and they want to reciprocate with good performances and plenty of wins.

“We've had a couple of disappointing results since the team broke the club record by achieving nine successive victories. But, with ten games remaining we're in a good position although we haven't achieved anything yet. To achieveour objective‎ requires hard work, dedication, professionalism and a bit of luck along the way!

“So once again a big thank you not only to those who have renewed their Season Tickets but all of our supporters for that tremendous backing which is very much appreciated.”

*With the Early Bird scheme now closed, all supporters can now purchase a season ticket for next season via the ‘Join The Pack’ scheme.  Click here for details.
