Kenny Jackett today confirmed that Wolves are in negotiations with Danny Batth and Leigh Griffiths about potential new contracts.
Both defender Batth and striker Griffiths are set to be key figures for Wolves this season, and Jackett has moved quickly to try and secure their services for longer than the 12 months remaining after the club took up options this summer.
Batth was Jackett’s Man of the Match against Preston on Saturday while Griffiths, fresh from scoring 28 goals on loan for Hibernian last season, has been in top form in pre-season.
“Both are in negotiations and have been offered new contracts, but nothing has been signed yet,” said Jackett.
“I’ve been very pleased and impressed with both of them.
“I think Danny is a terrific prospect at the back, and he had a very good first game against Kevin Davies.
“And Leigh, despite perhaps being a bit frustrated on Saturday and not getting the best of service, I think he always does look a threat.
“He looks a goal threat and you get confidence in a player that when the chances come along he can score.
“I’ve been impressed with both of them in the short time I’ve been here.”
