Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy is running a Foundation Phase Coach Education evening on Thursday 5th September 2013. The event is focussed on coaches working with players aged between 5 and 11 years old, providing helpful tips and sample sessions for those working at local, grassroots clubs.
The workshop, which is being help at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground, Compton, is part of the club’s continued commitment to developing links with clubs in the local community. Academy Manager Gareth Prosser is hosting the event.
“We are very pleased to provide local coaches with this unique opportunity to come and see exactly what life is like at Wolves Academy. As well as giving the opportunity to watch our coaches work, the event is designed to give people from grassroots clubs the chance to speak with full time members of staff from the Academy, and ask any questions they may have.”
Alongside the practical activities, which will be taking place on the club’s state of the art, 3G astro turf, there will be a brief presentation highlighting aspects of the playing philosophy and ethos of the club.
Foundation Phase Support Coach, Dan Bolas started off working at a Grassroots club before starting as an Academy Coach in 2011.
“Having spent time working at a local club, coaching and supporting younger players, a workshop like this is an excellent way of picking up some tips and new ideas. Many of our part time coaches and development centre staff members have started their coaching careers working with grassroots clubs, so this is a great opportunity for local coaches to network.”
There are still a few places left on the event, which is free to attend. If you are a coach interested in coming along to the evening, which runs from 6:30pm until approximately 8:30pm on Thursday 5th September 2013, please e-mail Dan Bolas on email@example.com as soon as possible to confirm you place.
