A host of Wolves ‘old boys’ are flying the gold and black flag by taking part in the Club Legends Cup – in support of Cure Leukaemia.
Steve Bull is to manage the Wolves side which has been put together by ambassador Matt Murray to take on their Midland counterparts at Birmingham’s LG Arena on Saturday, July 12th.
THANKS TO TOURNAMENT ORGANISERS, WE HAVE TEN LOTS OF FOUR TICKETS TO GIVE AWAY FOR WHAT SHOULD BE SOME EXCELLENT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT.
The team is currently set to feature Matt, Jody Craddock, Ade Akinbiyi, Seyi Olofinjana, Rob Edwards, Lee Naylor, Jamie Smith, Tony Dinning and Adam Proudlock.
There are two places available for fans to join in with the Wolves team with an auction now open at www.clublegendscup.co.uk All entrants must be aged 16 or over with the two highest bidders getting the chance to join the team for the whole day, from the dressing room banter to the games on the pitch and the exclusive after-party.
All money raised from the auctions will go towards Birmingham-based blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia.
“I was delighted to be asked to put a team together,” says Matt.
“It’s for a great cause and it’s also a great idea because it gives the fans the opportunity to play alongside the players.
“I have already seen Villa and Blues players around and it’s all very competitive so make no mistake – we all want to win!
“Raising some good funds to help battle against a very serious illness is the main thing but it should also be fun and some great family entertainment on the day before the World Cup final.
“There are some legs in the team and hopefully I’ll get a runout unless a really good goalkeeper wants to play and then binned off and warming the bench!
“Fans can get involved by putting a bid in or, if you don’t want to try and play, why not just come along for what should be a great family day with hopefully a good crowd at the LG Arena.”
Prior to the Club Legends Cup will be the FootieBugs Little Legends Cup featuring six regional kids’ teams and a Ladies Legends match between two top Midlands sides.
Away from the football there will be a host of fun activities around the concourse areas of the LG Arena making it a great day out for the whole family.
Tickets for the event, priced at £10 for adults and £2 for Under-16s (plus booking fees) are available now through the LG Arena or Ticket Factory websites.
