Bob Laslett continues support

In a huge boost for Wolves’ Category One youth set-up, Chaucer Group have renewed their sponsorship of the Wolves Academy for the forthcoming 13/14 Season.

In a significant deal, Bob Laslett, Chairman / Global Chief Executive of the Chaucer Group, and a former Wolves Board Director, has continued his great support of the Academy, which first began in 2009.

Prior to that, Chaucer Group were the Club’s Main Sponsor from 2004, before they handed over to Sportingbet upon the Club’s promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

Chaucer will appear on all the Academy shirts, training kit and, in addition, fans will see the Chaucer brand around Molineux on a match day.

Bob Laslett, Chairman / Global Chief Executive, Chaucer Group, said, “I’ve always believed in the importance of Wolves developing their own players and the Club has a great tradition of bringing youngsters through the ranks.

“I’m very proud of the role Chaucer Group have played in the continued development and success of the Academy, and I’m delighted that we will be supporting the youngsters for a minimum of another year.”

Jez Moxey, Chief Executive, said, “This great news comes at a very important time for our Academy.

“Bob’s continued backing is crucial in maintaining our status as one of the country’s elite Academies. And with work set to start on the new Academy Indoor Facility in September, this investment means we can continue to move forward with these kind of strategic developments.

“Bob’s fantastic support will have an impact and a legacy over many years, and on behalf of the Club, I would like to, once again, thank him, and everyone at Chaucer Group.”‎

Wolves Academy secured Category One status – the highest rating possible – in the summer of 2012. It was amongst a handful of Academies to secure a classification for the maximum period of three years.
