Kenny Jackett believes Jake Cassidy will benefit from a third loan spell with Tranmere Rovers.
Cassidy is to link up with Ronnie Moore’s side for a three month spell having had two successful spells at Prenton Park over the last couplw of seasons.
Jackett believes it will boost the striker’s long term prospects at Molineux to go out and get some regular football and hit the goalscoring trail once again.
“It will be a good loan for him – we think it’s the right step for his particular career,” said Jackett.
“He’s had a number of starts and he’s been unlucky having had quite a high number of chances, starting with the one he had at Bristol City away early in the season.
“We think this will boost his confidence and bring him back to us whenever that will be, with more game time and hopefully some goals for Tranmere, preferably against some of our rivals!
“There’s a recall after 28 days but initially the period is for three months and we hope he can get some goals and build his confidence up in that period because the games he’s played for us he’s been a handful.
“He’s been very committed but just been unlucky with a number of chances that his career ahead of him at 20, will come.”
Jackett believes Cassidy will be boosted by having previously spent time at Tranmere and enjoyed success.
“I think he’ll fit in very quickly - he’ll hit the ground running,” he added.
“That’s an advantage of this particular loan.
“There won’t be a transitional period or getting to know what’s required there. I see that as an advantage.
“He’s had chances on a regular basis for us and hasn’t quite put them away.
“Sometimes you just need the first one to then go on a run. That’s been his season so far.”
