Striker poised for Prenton Park stay

Jake Cassidy is set to return to Tranmere on a three-month emergency loan.

The 20-year-old striker heads back to Prenton Park after two successful previous loan spells with the Sky Bet League One side, in which he scored 16 goals in 38 games.

Cassidy has made 18 appearances for Wolves so far this season, and enjoyed a sustained run in the side in the build-up to Christmas, but with new signing Nouha Dicko having joined the striker department Head Coach Kenny Jackett has allowed the Welsh Under-21 international to go out on loan to continue to further his experience.

Cassidy will train with Tranmere this week and is in line to feature in their home game against Crewe on Saturday.
