Boss's Update

12:11 9th October 2012

Latest on coach/Tchoyi/loan search

Boss Ståle Solbakken has confirmed former Cologne assistant Patrick Weiser is one of several names still on the shortlist for the coach’s job at Molineux – as he aims to make a final decision within the next two weeks.

Weiser was in the Directors Box at Ewood Park for Saturday’s 1-0 win at Blackburn, and remains one of a number of candidates under potential scrutiny to join the Molineux backroom staff.

“Patrick is one of the guys who we have been talking to for a long time,” says Solbakken.

“He is also someone I know from before.
“We are monitoring the situation and have been in touch with a few others.

“I will probably have one or two more chats with people this week and then hopefully we’ll solve it within the next 14 days.
“There are no favourites and it would be stupid to say that at the moment.”

The boss has also confirmed that winger Somen Tchoyi is currently training with Wolves in a bid to improve his fitness levels.

But he says it is too early to even think about whether the arrangement, which started last week, will go any further.

“His agent phoned and asked if he could train with us, and in this international break when there are so few (players) it is a win, win situation for both,” added the boss.

“He’ll train with us but he’s a long way to go fitness wise.
“I won’t go into ‘ifs’ because last week was his first football session for goodness knows how long.

“I saw a lot of him as he played in Norway when I was in Norway.

“Then he went to Austria and to England.
“I’ve not seen so much of him lately though, so I have to go deeper into it.”

And the boss has also confirmed the search for a loan player is continuing, again with the ideal being getting something sorted during the international break.

“We are working on something but I have given it upstairs (to Jez Moxey),” he added.

“The list is not very long because it is not easy this time of year but we have some suggestions and we will see if it is realistic or not.
“Peszko is out for a very long time and Razak (Boukari) is out for quite a long time, so that could be an area we want to see if we can improve.
“I don’t go into names but we’ve done some research and there’s something we want to test out this week to see if it’s possible or not.”
