Wolves boss Dean Saunders has been nominated for the npower Championship Manager of the Month award for March.
Wolves hit back from a difficult spell to enjoy a successful March, taking ten points from their five fixtures.
Victories were chalked up away at Millwall and home to Bristol City and Middlesbrough, after Wolves had kicked off the month with a dramatic draw at home to Watford thanks to Bakary Sako’s injury time equaliser.
The only defeat in the month came in a hard-fought clash at Nottingham Forest, whose manager Billy Davies is also among the nominations.
The third boss in the running for the award is Peterborough’s Darren Ferguson.
Saunders is into his fourth month in charge at Wolves and this is his first nomination of the season, despite having led Doncaster to the top end of League One prior to moving to Molineux in January.
The Manager of the Month award is decided by former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon, andnpower Partnerships and Sponsorships Manager Katy Thomas.
The winner will be announced tomorrow.
The nomination comes a week after Saunders collected the Performance of the Week award on behalf of the team following the 3-2 win at Birmingham on the first day of April.
