Boss Ståle Solbakken is refusing to get carried away by Wolves’ run of three wins in four – expecting another tough test against in-form Peterborough on Boxing Day (3pm).
Posh have fired themselves back into the potential survival picture thanks to back-to-back victories, following up becoming the first team to win at Cardiff this season by overcoming Bolton 5-4 on Saturday.
They will also be free of expectation at Molineux on Boxing Day, and so while pleased with Wolves’ recent run, the boss is taking nothing for granted.
“I don’t think we should talk so much about promotion – just the next game,” he says.
“That is against Peterborough on Boxing Day and hopefully we will get a big crowd and can try for three more points.
“But three wins in four does suggest it’s going a little bit better.
“After the bad run we had it was a mentally tough one for us but this is a good win and hopefully we can build on it.
“There are no easy games in this division.
“We have Peterborough at home now – everyone thinks that should be three points but I have seen their game from Cardiff when they won 2-1.
“That is Cardiff’s only defeat and that is the Championship for you!
“In the last four games I think we have seen that we are back on track again.
“We are looking better and better and hopefully we can continue that but we have to look at it as one game at a time.”
