Wolves 5 (Nouble 2 (1 pen), Winnall, Hunt, Ismail)
London Academy X1 0
Several members of the Molineux senior squad took park in a behind closed doors friendly at Compton Park this afternoon and they scored five against a London Academy X1 without reply.
Wolves were two up at the break with both goals coming from Frank Nouble. The striker scored the first from the spot after he had been fouled in the box, and his second came when he beat the keeper in a one on one after running onto Stephen Hunt’s through ball.
Hunt was one of three men that played the 90 minutes with Dorus De Vries and Kevin Foley also completing the game.
Hunt supplied the pass for Sam Winnall to beat the keeper from the edge of the box, and the young striker then returned the favour with a pass to Hunt who ran through to score the fourth goal.
Winnall also supplied the pass that allowed Zeli Ismail to go around the keeper and slot the ball into the empty net to make it 5-0.
Coach Steve Weaver said: “It goes without saying that this was a really useful workout for the lads, especially those who have been getting over injury niggles or haven’t had the opportunity to get too much football under their belts.”
Wolves: De Vries, Foley, Elokobi (Reckord), Davis,(Price), Batth (Ihiewke), Tank (Ebanks-Landell), Hunt, Jacobsson, (Whittall), Nouble (Winnall), Kempton (Ismail), Cranston (Kostrna).
